8 Reasons Why You Should Drink Water More Frequently

READ THE JOURNAL

The human body consists of 60% water, that's why it is obvious that we need to consume at least 8 glasses of water each day. Not one single cell in our body can operate at peak performance without it, and drinking pure water that does not contain fluoride, excessive calcium or other toxins is the best thing that we can do to improve our health. On this week's journal, we will be explaining some of the major reasons you need to be frequently hydrated.

1. Balances body temperature

Your body is composed of water, and it is naturally responsible for maintaining body temperature. Consuming 8 glasses of water daily helps regulate body temperature. Moreover, constant perspiration in summer can lower increased body temperature, and drinking water help maintain energy levels.

2. Flush toxins out of the body

Water carries oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to various body parts, as well as providing a medium for the removal of toxins, dead cells, and waste material. Proteins and enzymes that are required to perform various body processes also require water for their proper functioning. Therefore, frequent hydration means frequent trips to the toilet - and it's proven to be better for your overall health!

3. Helps prevent the formation of kidney stones

Water also has the potential to dissolve kidney stones. Its ability to help dilute excess chemicals, minerals, and salts that contribute to stones formation and facilitate proper urination to flush out excess and toxic waste can prevent this common kidney problem.

4. Encourages proper digestion and regulate bowel movements

Digestion system that is properly maintained results in a healthier body. If you're one of those people who rarely reaches for a glass of water, you may encounter indigestion frequently, such as constipation or diarrhea. If not treated well, this problem can manifest into a more serious problem like stomach ulcer. Therefore, consuming at least 8 glasses of water on daily basis will help encourage effective food digestion and regulate bowel movements as well. However, avoid drinking water with meals and wait for at least 45 minutes before or after meal.

5. Helps boost your metabolism

Water is able to boost your body metabolism, thus resulting in various health benefits such as weight loss. Drinking ice cold water helps boost your metabolism because your body has to work harder to warm the water up, therefore burning more calories.

6. Maintains cardiovascular health

Cardiovascular problems are becoming common regardless of age. Studies have shown that people who consume adequate levels of water following a proper fitness routine developed fewer heart disorders than others. Drinking water helps maintains proper blood viscosity, plasma, and fibrinogen distribution. Therefore, try to keep your body well-hydrated to avoid cardiovascular problems.

7. Improves brain function

Research have shown that properly hydrated body is shown to function more complex tasks than a dehydrated body. It helps in improving the mood, boosting memory, reducing the frequency of headaches, and improving brain function. If the body experiences rampant fluid loss, it can lead to anxiety and excessive fatigue.

8. Helps lubricate joints

There are a few studies conducted regarding joint health and water intake. It showed that drinking water lubricate joints and muscles, relieves inflammation, improves flexibility and resilience, removes toxins and waste that surround joints and muscles, as well as keeping the joints from getting stiff.
